Tendonitis

Tendonitis is the inflammation of a tendon – the thick, fibrous cord that attaches muscles to bones. It often occurs due to repetitive overuse or sudden injuries, such as sports-related activities or manual labor. In some cases, it can be caused by infections or diseases.

Common symptoms of tendonitis include: pain and tenderness in the affected area, swelling and inflammation, and difficulty moving the affected joint.

Bursitis

Bursitis is the inflammation of a bursa, which is a small, fluid-filled sac that acts as a cushion between bones and soft tissues, like tendons and muscles. Much like tendonitis, it often results from repetitive motion or pressure on a joint.

Bursitis shares some common symptoms of tendonitis such as pain, swelling, and tenderness around the affected area. However, to differentiate between the two, bursitis often causes a restricted range of motion in the joint as well as a feeling of warmth and redness.

If you believe you may be experiencing symptoms of tendonitis or bursitis, contact our office to make an appointment so our team can help determine the best course of treatment for you.
